Hubtown Wins Battle for First

The top two teams in the NSWL faced off at Crossfit Ironstone last night, and the result was our best match of the season. The lead changed hands numerous times over the course of the evening, and it wasn’t until the final round of clean & jerks that the outcome was decided. In the end it was Hubtown, led by top lifter on the night Jevan McNutt, who came out on top by less than 9 points in our highest scoring match ever.

Thanks to both teams for some great performances, and to the crowd that came out to cheer them on. And, as always, thanks to our loaders, Cody and Keri, who made this our quickest and smoothest match yet.

Ironstone Hangs on to Edge Blended

What a night at Crossfit Ironstone. Our closest match ever with the home side taking on the crew from Blended Athletics. Some great lifting from both teams with the lead changing hands with almost every lift during the clean & jerks. Top lifter on the night was Blended’s Mohsen Agdam, but in the end Ironstone, led by Nate Edwardson, pulled out the victory by less than 3 points!

Thanks to all the spectators who came out to watch, and to our loaders Heather and Monique, who kept things running like clockwork.

Hubtown Women Take the Win

Renfrew rolled in to Truro tonight to take on the women of Hubtown, but even a Canadian Champion on their roster wasn’t enough to secure the victory. Gabriel Auclair was top scorer on the night, but a combination of inexperience and injury meant that Renfrew was no match for a strong all-female lineup from Hubtown, led by Heather Dyke and coach-turned-lifter Amanda Thompson.

Another great night for the NSWL – fans of both teams packed the place, and it’s always fun to lift at Hubtown, where everyone cheers for everyone.
